The G. Zannato Museum of Archaeology and Natural Sciences preserves and exhibits archaeological and naturalistic evidence of the area, carries out teaching, research and dissemination activities and is the exhibition and operational headquarters of the Agno Chiampo Museum System.
It is a complex of underground quarries that develops on the top of the mountain below the castle of Bellaguardia for a kilometer and a half between artificial rooms and natural cavities of epicarsic origin.
Fortifications from the Roman and early medieval periods probably existed on the hill overlooking today’s town, with the function of strategic control over the local communication routes.
